Commission a Digital Skills Programme

Commissioning a Digital Gum programme is straightforward.

We have been working with local authorities, councils, combined authorities, job centres, growth hubs, and business support organisations since 2014. This page explains who we work with, what commissioning involves, and what to expect from delivery and reporting.

Who We Work With

We work with any public sector, third sector, or partnership organisation that funds employment or business growth support. We are not a large training provider — we are a small, specialist organisation and we work with commissioners who want a genuine partnership, honest communication, and real outcomes data.

Organisations we work with include:

  • Local authority economic development teams

  • Council employment support teams

  • Combined authority skills and employment teams

  • Jobcentre Plus and DWP partnership programmes

  • Third sector employability organisations

We deliver across South West England (North Devon, Mid Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Bristol, Gloucestershire) and South East England (Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Oxfordshire).

Our Two Programmes

Employability Programme — for unemployed adults aged 19 and over

A 5-week in-person programme that rebuilds confidence and digital skills for unemployed adults. Participants work in small teams on a real project for a local charity, developing teamwork, communication, and digital literacy alongside the belief that they can succeed in work. Maximum 12 participants. Twice weekly, approximately 30 hours total.

Small Business Programme — for self-employed people and business starters

A 5-week in-person digital marketing programme for sole traders, freelancers, and new business owners. Covers website building, SEO, social media, content creation, and email marketing. Participants leave with a working digital marketing foundation and a growth plan. Maximum 12 participants. Twice weekly, approximately 30 hours total.

The Commissioning Process

  1. Initial conversation — discuss your context, participant profile, and outcomes requirements. Free, no obligation, 30-45 minutes.

  2. Proposal — written document covering programme structure, delivery timeline, outcomes framework, and pricing.

  3. Contract — we work within your standard commissioning contract or provide a simple service agreement.

  4. Setup — allow 6-12 weeks. Covers participant recruitment support, venue confirmation, charity partner engagement, and materials preparation.

  5. Delivery — twice-weekly sessions for five weeks with regular progress updates throughout.

  6. Evaluation — full outcomes report at cohort close plus 6-month follow-up on employment or business outcomes.
